Excellent summary here.
As we enter the holiday season many of us will contribute generously to our local food shelves and food banks. That is wonderful. But as the film points out so well, charity alone will not fix this. If we really want to end hunger in this nation we need to fix the economic disparity that prevails. We have lost the middle-class; we need jobs here to grow this sector of the population again. We need to address what crops the government subsidizes. Healthy, whole foods should be at least as affordable as the highly processed cheap calorie options available now. We need a revolution!
In the meantime, we can all try to remember that the food shelves need donations all year round, not just the holiday season.
