Today is the official start of Barre’s very own hometown festival - the Barre Heritage Festival. Granite City Grocery will be there in more ways than one and we really need your participation!
Barre Heritage Festival is a five-day festival linking the culture, history, music, and language of our history to the present in a fun and festive way. This year, a good portion of N. Main Street will be closed to traffic to allow pedestrians to enjoy activities and music!
Below are the upcoming events on tap for Granite City Grocery and how you can help. Click on the hyperlinks below! They take you to an event on our website where you can RSVP to volunteer for the event you are interested in.
Information Table on Friday and Saturday: We’re looking for GCG supporters - owner or pledge - join us at our table for an hour or more on either Friday, July 26th from 4 pm to 9 pm or Saturday, July 27th from 11 am to 9 pm, GCG will have a table on Washington Street along with the food vendors. On Friday, we’ll be offering information only. On Saturday, after the parade, we will be offering a fresh veggie sampler and dip - free to children who receive a coupon from our parade float volunteers and for a fair price to others who don’t have coupons. Thanks to Upper Valley Produce for donating the veggies!
Parade Float - Assembly Help & Participation on Saturday: GCG owner Helene Bowser is cooking up an amazing float for GCG. Want to help assemble? Come help out on Saturday, July 27th at 9 am at the St. Monica’s parking lot. And/or if you would like to be a part of our float, we are looking for as many people as possible to walk and ride (we have a Bellavance truck). We even have a few carrot and strawberry costumes compliments of sewer-extraordinaire Katie Lane-Karnas!
And, if you just cannot do either but want to support us, please stop by our table and waive and shout when you see our float!
Happy Barre Heritage Festival Days!
