Co-op Socials Series: Barre Edition

You are invited to Cooperative Vermont's "Co-op Social Series: Barre Edition.  The First of Seven Events around Vermont Highlighting the Cooperative Principles and the Growing Cooperative Movement in Vermont and Beyond."  After over a decade of no downtown grocery store, fresh food is coming back to downtown Barre.  Over 400 residents of Barre City and the wider community are now owners of Granite City Grocery (GCG), a cooperative effort to create a retail store offering fresh and healthy food choices in downtown Barre.  The effort has been boosted in large part by the support of other cooperatives locally, statewide, and nationally including Hunger Mountain Coop, Littleton Food Coop, CDS Consulting Cooperative, Neighboring Food Coop Association, Food Coop Initiative, and others.  At this event, learn more about how Cooperative Principle #6 (Cooperation Amongst Cooperatives) has bolstered Granite City Grocery's efforts and to network with other cooperators in central Vermont.  Free hearty appetizers will be available and a cash bar; the Quarry will be serving GCG's signature drink - the GCGC, a ginger carrot cocktail!  This event is co-sponsored by Hunger Mountain Cooperative, Members Advantage Community Credit Union, and Cabot Cooperative Creamery.
