2016 Annual Meeting

Come together with your fellow members for our 2016 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 29th at the Old Labor Hall on Granite Street in Barre. We will gather for food and socializing starting at 5:30.  It will be a great opportunity to meet some of your more than 620 fellow members, including current board members.  Please invite someone who is not member as well.  The annual meeting is great place to learn about the co-op.

At 6:00, Eileen Peltier, Executive Director, Downstreet Housing and Community Development, will give the keynote address:  “Granite City Grocery as an Economic Driver for Downtown Barre: Why Downstreet Supports GCG's Work to Open a Downtown Grocery Store.”  This will be followed a report by the board of the past year’s activities and an interactive World Café discussion on the future of the co-op, facilitated by board member Philip Kolling.  The World Café method fosters intimate discussions while drawing forth a group’s collective wisdom.  We’ll round out the evening with an announcement of the board election results.

We will also be giving away some great prizes donated by fellow co-ops.  All attendees will be entered to win two $50 gift certificates from Hunger Mountain Coop and gift boxes from Cabot creamery Co-op.  Our brand-new yard signs and t-shirts will also be available for purchase.

There are five candidates for five open seats. Phil Cecchini, Nick Landry, and Chris Riddell are current board members running for re-election. The remaining two candidates—Denise Gagne and Jo Perreault—have not previously served.  Candidates’ statements are available on our website at http://www.granitecitygrocery.coop/2016_board_candidates

Download and print a ballot. Please return your ballot via US Mail to GCG, P.O. Box 1225, Barre, VT 05641, or bring it to the meeting.  You may also vote online at http://goo.gl/forms/bKFBo1bdd9snLOyp2.  Only one vote per shareholder is permitted.

Even if you vote by mail or online, please come to the Annual Meeting!  It’s a great way to learn more about your co-op, our plans for the coming year, to connect with other owners, and to have your voice heard.  It’s our annual chance to all come together as a co-op, and it wouldn’t be the same without you.
